The
Basics of ShortStop (paclobutrazol) slows the growth of trees and woody shrubs at the growing point
of the branches (apical meristem). ShortStop holds the growth at approximately 10% of it's normal growth and the
control lasts for a minimum of three years.
· Holds fast growing trees & shrubs in neat form longer
· Establishes a new client service; treat before trimming is needed
· Allows
the company to increase efficiency and/or clientelle base
ShortStop generates secondary
benefits in treated trees. The redirection of energy from growth (elongation
in branches) produces drought and pest resistance and enhances root hair growth, creating a healthier plant.
· Applications are recommended prior to construction near trees or girdling root
surgery
· Positive influence on trees located in compacted soils or “tree coffins” (sidewalk containers)
· Increases the tree’s longevity in urban settings and in low quality soils
