The Company's History

PGMS has over 16 years experience in Vegetative and Line Clearance Management and over 14 years experience with Integrating Growth Regulators into Maintenance & Landscape Programs.  It's owner, Mark Mann, has been on both sides of Maintenance Management; the "client side" and the "contractor side."  This gives him a unique background for understanding and responding to other company's needs.  PGMS can supply a broad range of solutions and responses to our client's unique problems.  We offer educational programs for maintenance management, integration of Growth Regulators, and Growth Regulator Application certification.  The TGR product is not new to the U.S., but has been limited to only the utility market for over 18 years.  PGMS was the first company to bring the TGR applications to markets beyond utilities and to use it’s other valuable secondary benefits for maintaining the health of trees and woody plants.

The Company's Owners

Mark P. Mann is the CEO/Founder of Plant Growth Management Systems.  He graduated from Purdue University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management and has over15 years of experience in Right-of Way Management in the Indiana/Michigan area as AEP’s Systems Forester.  This background has specially prepared him for creating and running a service-oriented company.  In addition to his normal duties, Mark was responsible for all of AEP’s growth regulator research and the comprehensive System Use Plan-integrating growth regulator use.  Mark's research has been published both nationally and internationally.  In 1999, AEP’s Intellectual Properties Committee recognized Mark for his patent-pending “Tree Crown Volume Determination System” for use in TGR applications.  He co-founded the South Bend Urban Tree Advisory Council for the purpose of improving the health of the urban forest within the City of South Bend.  He has two children, a wife, a dog, a cat, and a boat.
