A. Converting volume to cost
The total volume of RTU to be applied for an application is converted into cost according to the amounts below:
| .01¢ per milliliter | 30¢ per ounce | $ 38.40 per gallon |
Example #1: 12 inch Hickory requiring 1800 mLs of RTU
Chemical cost = 1800mLs x .01¢ = $18.00
Example #2: 26 inch Magnolia requiring 173 ounces of RTU
Chemical cost = 173oz x $.30/oz = $51.90
B. Converting inches to cost
The DBH (diameter breast height) in inches can be converted into cost but it is rate category specific:
| Cost per inch per TGR Rate category | Click here to see the TGR Rate categories on our Slide Chart Call us for the entire Cost per Inch Chart |
|
| TGR Rate | Cost/Inch | |
| .75g/in | $.38/in | |
| 2.75g/in | $1.38/in | |
Example #3: 14 inch Flowering Dogwood (.75 g/in) is .38¢ per inch of RTU cost.
Chemical cost = 14 in x $.38/in = $5.32
Example #4: a large crown 37 inch Silver Maple (2.75 g/in) is $1.38 per inch.
Chemical cost = 37 in x $1.38/in = $51.06
NOTE: Client pricing has many factors that come into play (i.e.: distance traveled, external job costs, volume of treated trees, property value, etc.) and it varies for companies, but it is suggested that your per tree price should never be less than 6X chemical cost and rarely more than 10-12X chemical cost.
